REDDING, Calif. — A Burger King in Redding has reopened with some major updates.
The restaurant on Cypress Avenue was closed from April to December 2024 for remodeling.
Representatives with the fast food chain said it’s part of their "Reclaim the Flame" plan. The goal is to get an 85% to 90% modern image for their locations across the country by the year 2028.
Upgrades at this location in Redding include new kitchen technology, a double drive-thru lane and more.
"We have new fryers from Frymaster, which cooks our food up to par," Raul Fernandez, who serves as the district manager of Burger Kings ranging from Red Bluff to the Mt. Shasta area, told KRCR. "We have new technology with our POS in our headset system. Our double drive-thru lane will help speed up the process in the drive-thru and also get more customers in.”
He added, "We needed it upgraded, and obviously with this remodel, the community should see a big, huge difference."
This Burger King was previously owned by the late West Coast restaurateur Joe Wong. It is now owned by Ghai Management Services.
Their team said seven Burger Kings have been remodeled in the last two years from Yuba City to Redding.
The restaurant on Cypress Avenue reopened on Dec. 10.
Crews are still working on updating its dining room, with Fernandez telling KRCR it will potentially be used as a party room for customers in the near future.
They plan to do a grand opening in the next few weeks with a coupon drop in the mail, inviting the community to celebrate.
